Abstract:
Seven candidate meteorological andor geophysical phenomena were considered for their possible effects on the SENTINEL command and control communications systems. Two of these phenomena were judged to be important enough to warrant research in depth on their effects, and models were constructed appropriate for the SIN II computer program--a simulation of the SENTINEL communications system developed at SRI. The two models temperature inversion and rainfall are based on statistical data obtained from the U.S. Weather Bureau and other sources and are structured for off-line preparation before the simulation programs are run on the computer.
