Abstract:
The investigation evaluates the effectiveness of simulated-task, augmented feedback on acquiring a physically complex, continuous three- dimensional psychomotor skill. Since the device designed to provide the feedback was an arc-welding training simulator, the study also evaluates its training effectiveness. Data from the study support the hypothesis that simulated-task, augmented feedback is significantly superior to that provided by the task itself.
