Abstract:
The concept of an iterative array of finite-state machines has been used in a variety of studies such as pattern recognition, adaptive systems, biological growth and evolution, and numerical computations. In this report the authors present a general framework called the tessellation automaton in which many questions concerning uniform arrays can be formulated and studied.
