The technical grade compound produced no primary irritation to the intact or abraded skin of rabbits and no rabbit eye irritation. However, a single 24-hour application of either the technical grade chemical or a one percent formulation in pyrax powder to intact rabbit skin caused a reduction in blood cholinesterase activity. Under the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding between the U.S. Department of the Army, Office of The Surgeon General the Armed Forces Pest Control Board and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, it is recommended that ENT-27386-Gc formulated as a one percent dust in pyrax powder not be approved for field testing involving application to human skin.
