Abstract:

A new method is presented for finding the characteristic exponents and the Floquet equivalent constant system for periodic linear Hamiltonian systems. This method is based on a detailed study of the phase portrait of periodic Riccati differential equations as well as the study of the stability of solutions of periodic Riccati differential equations subject to algebraic constraints.
