An experimental and theoretical investigation has been made of the Rocketdyne 75-inch full scale vertical vaned diffuser. Boundary layer blowing, employing several types of injectors and two points of injection, increased the diffuser performance approximately 50 over performance without blowing. Experimental evidence confirmed the theoretical predictions that boundary layer injection near the exit of the supersonic portion of the diffuser, as opposed to injection at the entrance, would provide the best performance. A major problem was the rather poor quality of the flow produced by the temporary air supply and Mach 5 nozzle. The aerodynamic windows in the endwalls of the laser cavity did not significantly affect the diffuser performance. Diagrams are included. Modified author abstract
