Abstract:
Charge and mass loss of macroscopic particles in a weakly ionized plasma were measured. The evaporation and combustion theories of droplets were surveyed and the interaction of charged droplets with the ions in a flame was investigated. Cryogenic techniques in producing particles of oxygen, hydrogen, argon and other materials in vacuum were developed. These particles were injected into plasmas as a diagnostic tool to measure plasma parameters. A dense plasma focus device is under construction to investigate the possibility of increasing the output of pulsed x-rays from the DPF device by injecting particles into the focus region. Author
