Abstract:
Model investigations of the spillway and stilling basin for Chief Joseph Dam were conducted in a 133-scale sectional model to check the adequacy of the original design, verify the computed rating curve for the higher flows, and where possible, to effect revisions in design that would improve hydraulic performance or reduce construction costs.
