This project concerned properties of condensed matter in which one or more dimensions were reduced. Thin films and surfaces form what is called two-dimensional systems metal whiskers and organic crystal in which the molecules are strongly coupled along only one direction form one-dimensional systems finally, in this language, small particles and atomic aggregates form zero-dimensional systems.
