Abstract:

Test of the emergency closure gate, intake, control valves, horseshoe tunnel, stilling basin, and outlet channel for Howard Hanson Dam were conducted in a 125-scale model. Deformation properties of J-rubber seals for the tainter valves were determined in a 11-scale pressure chamber.
