Abstract:

The fiscal year FY 2019 National Defense Authorization Act NDAA, Section 702, directed the U.S. Department of Defense DoD to carry outa pilot program to assess the feasibility and advisability of using intensive outpatient treatment programs to treat members of the Armed Forces suffering from posttraumatic stress disorder PTSD resulting from military sexual trauma, including treatment for substance abuse, depression, and other issues related to such conditions Public Law 115-232, 2018. The Psychological Health Center of Excellence PHCoE commissioned the RAND Corporations National Defense Research Institute to conduct supplementalanalysis to support its response to Congress.
