Abstract:
The core buildup procedure is often utilized to restore teeth with limited remaining coronal tooth structure. Voids have been observed radiographically within glass-ionomer and resin-based core materials, potentially compromising the mechanical strength of the fully restored tooth. The presence of large or numerous voids may require buildup replacement before a final restoration can be delivered.
