Abstract:
In todays military operational environment of ambiguity and rapidly evolving situations, US Navy EOD operators make tactical decisions that have strategic impacts. Moral action on the battlefield is critical to minimize strategic risks associated with decisions that have moral and ethical implications. Navy EOD operators must make effective decisions in a split second under immense pressure. It is imperative that the moral fitness of Navy EOD operators be developed just as tactical intuitive decision-making skills are developed. This paper discerns how intuitive decision-making and the development of moral fitness in Navy EOD operators will ensure moral action on and off the battlefield.
