According to DPSC officials, commissary resale requirements make up the largest portion of DPSCS total fresh produce requirements. Purchases of fresh fruits and vegetables are made by 17 Defense Subsistence Offices DSOs. The DSOS obtain fresh fruits and vegetables from two sources. Small quantity orders, and more perishable items, are bought at the local terminal market by the 60s from the commercial.
