Abstract:
In our April 1981 report we recommended that the Secretary of Defense direct the Secretary of Army to 1 develop accurate workload data on field Army calibrations because reliable data was needed to validate equipment requirements, 2 reexamine equipment capabilities to determine the extent to which automated equipment can replace manual equipment in field Army calibration units, and 3 conduct an independent hardware demonstration to establish the cost effectiveness and productivity increases that may be achieved through automating field Army calibration functions.
