Abstract:

The objective of this study is to determine how a prostate cancer diagnosis, its treatment, and side-effects from treatment influence African American survivors work ability and experiences. More specifically, the study is examining factors that influence desired and actual length of sick leave work-related challenges following treatment and changes in workability and status following treatment, and compare how African American and white prostate cancer survivors experiences are similar or different. Data for the quantitative component continue to be collected. Qualitative data is being analyzed.
