Abstract:
DHSs operational components, primarily AMO and Border Patrol within CBP and Coast Guard, use aircraft andvessels to secure U.S. borders, support criminal investigations, and ensure maritime security and safety.Since DHS began operations in 2003, it has examined opportunities to integrate and coordinate CBP andCoast Guard air and marine operations, including identifying opportunities for potential efficienciessuch as consolidation of operating locations.
