Abstract:
This report describes a three-dimensional printed solar sensor for use as a part of a yawsonde, a device for measuring flight dynamics of spinning projectiles. The sensor is fabricated using additive manufacturing, making it fast and inexpensive to produce. The sensor incorporates light-trapping ridge features printed directly into the housing, which previously needed to be machined into the sensor body. The sensor was fabricated in plastic using stereolithography, and in metal using selective laser sintering.
