Abstract:
The proper use of pressure transducers for experiments investigating combat vehicle ammunition compartmentation is critical to obtain accurate pressure data. There are many factors in the installation process of the transducers that can affect the validity of the pressure data captured during an experiment. This report discusses why it is necessary to obtain accurate pressure data during a combat vehicle ammunition compartmentation experiment, and the method of transducer installation used by the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command CCDC Army Research Laboratorys ARLs Explosive Effects Branch for Ammunition Compartmentation and Survivability.
