Resolution as a Computational Factor in ALEGRA Simulations of a Shaped Charge Jet: Supplemental Study

This report follows up on three open questions from a previous study of resolution effects in ALEGRA simulations of a 65-mm shaped charge jet. The underlying cause of fragmented morphology observed in the leading portion of jets at high resolution is investigated. The dependence of the thermodynamic state in the pressure head on temporal discretization is determined. Finally, the accuracy of estimates for resolution-dependent numerical uncertainty is tested against ensembles of randomized simulations at varying resolution.
