Abstract:
The Department of Defense DoD uses the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery ASVAB and other predictor measures to select over 100,000 new military recruits every year and place them in military occupations. To ensure predictor measures are valid, the DoD and individual Services conduct rigorous, large-scale research projects to evaluate predictor measures against criterion metrics such as trainingjob performance or retention. However, criterion metrics are mostly Service-specific and sometimes occupation-specific, making it difficult to examine outcomes across the five Armed Services Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy, and Coast Guard.
