During this first year of the project, we have continued enrollment at the Shock Trauma Center of the University of Maryland Medical Center, which had already begun enrollment under our previous grant, W81XWH-07-1-0682. We have added 1 subject who underwent Emergency Preservation and Resuscitation EPR and 1 control subject. This brings our totals to 5 EPR and 5 control subjects. None of these subjects have survived. We continue to conduct routine EPR drills to keep team members up to speed on the protocol. We have begun the process of bringing Stroger Hospital of Cook County on as a second EPR site. The subcontract with them has been completed. They have been developing the community consultationpublic disclosure plan in concert with their Institutional Review Board. We are starting preparations for conducting training exercises for them once they receive regulatory approvals.
