Objectives To train animal care staff on clinically relevant procedures for species commonly used in the vivarium as mandated by the Animal Welfare Act. Methods Clinically relevant procedures medication administration, anesthesia, imaging, and euthanasia were taught using live animal models. Results Due to lack of staff turnover, this protocol has not been very active. Only two animals have been used in three years. Conclusion This protocol will be closed and alternative training methods and avenues will be pursued when needed.
