Injuries are operationalized with over 12,000 specific medical diagnostic codes International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, Clinical Modification ICD-10-CM. Each year the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention CDC updates the ICD-10-CM codes, this Update documents the new Army FY2020 injury codes and describes slight modifications to the 16 diagnoses categories e.g., injuries, mentalbehavioral health, cancer, etc. that APHC uses to show the annual burden distribution of all Active Duty soldiers medical encounters.
