This report offers a glimpse of what it is like to experience pregnancy loss as an active duty Marine. Dismissed, uncomfortable, awkward, this topic and those experiencing it often face silence, speaking broadly of western culture. In the Marine Corps specifically, this culture of silence is exacerbated by policy and leadership issues as well as cultural ideas of how and what a Marine should be. Through the lens of an oft-overlooked, socially charged topic, we offer Marine voices to highlight gaps in policy and leadership and examine Marine identity and values to help inform future deliberations on the construction and development of the force.
