Abstract:

The objective is to quantify the hydrodynamic processes velocity, shear stress, turbulence, surge and associated munitions mobility burial, exposure, transport on the beach face. The pilot study was performed in the Littoral Warfare Environment LWE at Aberdeen Test Center ATC to quantify munitions mobility orientation, migration and burial depths while simultaneously recording the hydrodynamic forcing conditions and bed response. The pilot study is the first of its kind to simultaneously measure both processes on the foreshore under large scale conditions.
