Abstract:
Source Barrier Tool and what is does 1 The tool explains the potential benefits of a physical barrier around a chlorinated solvent source zone and 2 The tool helps you understand if a barrier would work at your site. The overall objective of this project was to evaluate if inexpensive flow reduction agents delivered via permeation grouting technology could help manage difficult-to-treat chlorinated solvent source zones, or any other source zone comprised of contaminants that degrade primarily via anaerobic biodegradation processes that are inhibited by naturally-occurring competing electron acceptors such as oxygen and sulfate.
