The fundamental thermodynamic properties of ultra-high temperature ceramics in solid solution that include Zr, B, C, O and Si are investigated. The analysis of a thermochemical model that includes the calculation of phase equilibria from computational thermodynamics based on the CALPHAD approach using Thermo-Calc software is investigated. A description of the thermochemical model development and current capabilities oxidation testing of UHTCs in order to build the framework for a predictive oxidation model is described in this report.
