The goal of the research was to demonstrate direct measurement of electron mobility in graphene and graphene-nanoparticle composite materials. It is thought that electron transfer between catalytic nanoparticles and a conductive substrate such as graphene is an important mechanism for chemical reactivity in aqueous systems. However, to date, there has been no direct measurement of this electron transfer mechanism.
