Distributed Spatiotemporal Dynamics of Synthetic Gene Circuits

In this project we developed a multi-scale computational approach for analysis of multi-cellular processes in large bacterial populations and design of distributed synthetic gene circuits. This approach integrates discrete agent simulations of single cells with PDE modeling of large-scale dynamics. We applied this framework to computational modeling of spatiotemporal dynamics of growing bacterial biofilms and the dynamics of multi-strain bacterial populations.
