Abstract:
One key aspect of military life is frequent relocation, also known as permanent change of station PCS moves. According to the U.S. Department of Defense DoD, one third of military service members experience a PCS move every year. These frequent moves have the potential to affect family stability, a familys ability to operate as a cohesive unit with consistent activities and routines, in both positive and negative ways. Furthermore, there is evidence that these disruptions could impact service member satisfaction with military life and could affect service member and family readiness and resilience for some individuals and families.
