Abstract:
This report describes the proceedings and outcomes of a workshop sponsored by the US Army Research Laboratory on August 29, 2018. Bringing together Army entities and joint Department of Defense assets interested in antibody alternatives to achieve reliable biodetection and monitoring in fully operational conditions, including diagnostic and therapeutic applications, the workshop provided an in-depth overview of an emerging synthetic biorecognition technology called protein catalyzed capture agents. Each represented organization provided information on their specific sensingdiagnostic needs and made suggestions for possible future research directions. There was a focus on real-time Soldier health and performance monitoring, as well as environmental sensing of biothreats.
