The long-range scientific objective of this work is to develop a model of slip transmissibility that is sensitive todislocation grain boundary interaction characteristics and is able to capture the complexity resulting from multipledislocation collisions with grain boundaries. The key idea relies on the use of virtual diffraction techniques as ameans to quantify elastic strain energy changes in the microstructure associated with dislocation grain boundaryinteractions.
