This report describes a project focused on characterization of IL-based electrolyteelectrode systems via simultaneous electrochemical and spectroscopic experiments. The types of data we are generating are crucial to the understanding the microscopic molecular and ionic dynamics of electrolyteelectrode interfaces, information that is a prerequisite to engineered progress of many important energy conversion processes and devices e.g., supercapacitors.
