Abstract:

In 2011, the Department of Defense DoD published the Government-Wide Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan that established a government-wide initiative to promote Diversity and Inclusion. While the military is a diverse organization, it is unclear if it is an inclusive organization therefore, it is necessary to measure the militarys climate for inclusion. The Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey FEVS has measured Inclusion for civilian members within the federal government however, there has yet to be an assessment of a climate for inclusion for the military population. The DEOMI Organizational Climate Survey DEOCSintends to fulfill that role.
