Abstract:

The aim of this project was to explore 3D printing for RFmicrowave circuits and devices. The research produced several 3D printed microwave filters, a 3D wifi radio circuit, and new materials for 3D printed electromagnetic devices. The research demonstrates that 3D printing is capable of manufacturing circuits and high-frequency microwave systems. Future work in this area should explore ways that the third dimension can be exploited to reduce size, weight, and power and how it can be used to incorporate physics that is not possible in three dimensions.
