Center for Naval Analyses Washington United States
Pagination or Media Count:
A lot has changed in the 40 years since the United States stopped the draft and transitioned to an All-Volunteer Force in 1973. To document these changes as well as the characteristics of U.S. military personnel, Congress mandated in 1974 that the Department of Defense DOD produce annual representation reports. The Population Representation in the Military Services Pop Rep reports goal is to provide the most comprehensive, reliable and consistent data tabulations on military personnel for policymakers, the media, and the general public.
