Extranodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma EMZBCL is a rare, low-grade, lymphoproliferative neoplasm arising from mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue acquired from chronic antigenic stimulation. It has histomorphologic similarities with benign lesions such as lymphoepithelial sialadenitis LESA but has the risk of transforming into a high-grade lymphoma. This study served as a control to validate another study evaluating previously diagnosed benign LESA lesions for a diagnosis of EMZBCL using current criteria.
