Abstract:
Evidence-based practice is described as incorporating scientific evidence, clinical expertise and the patients values and preferences to provide quality healthcare. Despite growing scientific support, governmentalaccreditation requirements and healthcare leader support, organizational adoption of EBP in clinical settings is inconsistent and not well-described. The 59th Medical Wing Nurse Executive Function directed the initiation of an EBP council for the advancement of nursing services to better support the 59 MDW high reliability organization.
