Quantum Engineering of States in Heterostructure-based Detectors for Enhance Performance

The investigators have undertaken several quantum engineering and phonon engineering efforts underlying the enhancement of the performance of nanostructure-based sensors and electronic optoelectronic devices. These include design of novel photodetectors relying on phonon-assisted transitions as well as photon absorption events AlGaAsGaAs triple well photodetector spontaneous polarization induced electric fields in nanostructures. This research includes modeling and theory of quantum confined structures as well as related experimental studies.
