This report summarizes research progress to date in topology optimization TO for additive manufacturing AM and fatigue. The effort has been divided into 2 parts TO for AM and TO for fatigue of metals. The 2-D and 3-D solutions are presented for TO for AM and fatigue. The proposed design approaches have produced promising results and suggest further investigation. A path forward is suggested in the conclusion.
