Abstract:

This report provides a summary of speech intelligibility research and offers guidelines for selecting hearing protection based on speech intelligibility. MIL-STD-1472G 11Jan2012 Department of Defense Design Criteria Standard Human Engineering provides the basis for the guidelines using the Modified Rhyme Test and the Articulation Index.
