This grant was awarded to support the 12th International Congress of Neuroethology ICN held in Montevideo, Uruguay, March 30-April 3, 2016. ICN is the major scientific meeting of the International Society for Neuroethology ISN, that promotes to alternate the venue for lCN between continents. For the first time, the ICN20 16 took place in South America, becoming the major Neuroscience meeting ever held in Uruguay with 519 participants from 32countries of 5 continents. The Local Organizing Committee was formed by representatives from Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil and Chile, chaired by Dr. Ana Silva. The Program Conm1ittee co-chairs, Dr. Martin Giurfa Paul Sabatier University, France and Dr. Jose Pena Albert-Einstein-College of Medicine, USA, coordinated the organization ofCN2016 Program, with two founders lectures Heiligenberg and Huber Lectures, seven plenary lectures, four Young Investigator Awards talks, a Presidential Symposium, 12 contributed symposia, four participant symposia, and two poster sessions. The ICN20 16 had a similar number of participants than previous ICNs, with a clear bias towards Latin American countries 30 participants, most attending the ICN for the first time, 15 of them supported by this granttogether with the apps and program book that were fundamental tools for the success of this meeting.
