Abstract:

Ever since Napoleon Bonaparte ushered in a new style of warfare unleashed by the French Revolution and continuing on with advances in technology into the modern era, logistics has played a crucial role in operational campaigns. Whereas most nation-states in Europe had previously fought limited wars for limited objectives, the revolutionary French government decided in November 1792 to help all people gain liberty by overthrowing the existing European monarchies.
