Globalization as we know it now emerged after World War II. Proliferation as we know it now emerged after World War II, with the advent of nuclear weapons, but also with the advent of long-range ballistic missiles, starting with the German V-2. Globalization is the interconnectedness of the world, especially through trade, but in new and intricate ways that constitute a qualitative change and on a scale that far outstrips previous episodes of globalization.
