Research on the potential effects of underwater noise on marine mammals has grown steadily over the last few decades. Results and information are scattered across the peer-reviewed and grey literature. In this project, we try to review the information on noise impacts on marine mammals, focussing on results since the publication of Marine Mammals and Noise by Richardson et al. 1995. It is hoped that our review will provide the background for future studies.
