Abstract:
Our audit objective was to determine whether U.S. Special Operations Command USSOCOM was effectively validating requirements for its Special Operations-Peculiar SO-P programs. SO-P programs provide the equipment, materiel, supplies, and services needed for special operations missions. USSOCOM is responsible for SO-P requirements development and acquisition and, according to USSOCOM there were 147 SO-P Programs with fielded equipment from FY 2010 through FY 2013. Of those147 SO-P programs, we non-statistically selected and reviewed requirements documentation for 6 programs. The programs reviewed, shown in Figure 1, are described below.
