Preliminary Session Opportunities for Collaboration.In this session we will present the Fiscal Year 2007 Presidents Budget Request for the DoD S and T program. We willalso highlight specific programs that will provide conference attendees opportunities to engage in collaborative effortswith the DoD and international S and T community. Presentations will provide information on technology areas ofhigh interest to the DoD, time lines, and points of contact for the submission of proposals. Opportunities for bothindustry and academia will be covered. A wide range of programs, from the larger technology demonstrations fundedby the Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration program, that lead to the evaluation of military utility ofadvanced technology by a Combatant Commander to the more focused technology development efforts that arefunded by the Test and EvaluationScience and Technology T and ES and T program will be covered. Opportunities forproposing commercial off-the-shelf technology to meet current military needs will be addressed by the Quick ReactionFundRapid Reaction Fund program presentation. Specific scientific research areas having high interest to the DoDwill be highlighted along with information on the process universities should use to submit proposals. The session willbe rounded out with a presentation on opportunities for collaborative international research and technology development.
