Abstract:
The goal of this project was to develop topological methods to detect and localize vulnerabilities of wireless communication networks to jamming and traffic overload. Our analysis used high-dimensional cell complexes to describe broadcast resources. Local protocol, activity, and channel conditions can be associated to such a cell complex using a mathematical object called a sheaf. We leveraged the existing mathematical literature on sheaves that describes how to draw globalnetwork-wide inferences from them.
