Abstract:

Testing was performed to determine the useful shelfservice life for LGM-30 Stage I Rocket Motors. The ten year storage program was continued to assure at least a two year extended life for propellant and components. This report covers propellant and case bond data. The malfunction of an environmental chamber and the burning of motors during dissection destroyed the component samples. Dissection of selected motors in the future should provide continued component testing. The data from this test period is combined with previous data and entered into the G085 computer for storage, analysis, and regressions. From the analysis, significant degradation of the propellant does not seem likely for at least two years past the oldest data point.
